Sultan Turkish Restaurant

Turkish food. Here's traveling through food again. Turkey is definitely like one my top countries to travel but I never really knew much about the food scene.

The Bussorah Street right infront of the Sultan Mosque is lined up with pretty Turkish restaurants with Mediterranean and middle Eastern vibes. White chairs and beautiful tiled tables in alfresco setting. Super chill yet very happening.

We had our dinner at Sultan Turkish Restaurant that feels like a friendly place. It was packed with groups of families and friends. The waiters are super friendly. It felt abit like an atas mamak.

Ordered a Mix Grill Platter ($49.90) to share and there's a Taboulleh ($9.90) to start. Taboulleh was such a nice crunchy and tangy salad that complements all the grilled meats. The grill platter has lamb chops, kebabs and Pilav ricee. Everything was yummy, the spices in the meats are so delightful. And love the fluffeh rice so much that I can't stop having them with the meats and the salad.

Got a Cheese Musakha $24.90 to just indulge in those gloriously spiced sauces with meats and cheese. It's like pasta sauce but layered with another blend of spices.

Baklava $11.90

Have been dying to try this after I watched a video of making this dessert which was so much effort involved. Filo pastry was tough to make and layering them and drenching them in syrup wasn't easy too. But wow totally understand why people still make it, it's so damn sinful. It's crunchy, it's overflowing with sweetness, it's warm and it's nutty. Just super sinful but so syok!

As if we can't get enough of hot and deep fried syrup coated pastry, we ordered a Kunafe ($11.90) which is kinda similar to Baklava but Instead of layered pastry, it's shredded! It's still soaked in syrup but the texture that you taste as you bite through the pastry feels different! This comes with Turkish ice cream which is extra creamy and sticky.

Check out our pretty table top with an exotic teapot.

Btw the waiter accidentally served baklava again and we joked that he can give it to us for free and he really did! Lol but little did he know we were punching ourselves on the inside for saying that coz God knows how much calories we have to burn after eating those extra baklavas.

Had such a great time with the ladies from appetizer to dessert and tea, we stayed until the shops are closing. There it was an empty street with the pretty Sultan Mosque behind. Thanks Fiona for kindly taking this photo of me!
