Keisuke's Ramen joints. Tonkatsu King @Tanjong Pagar & Kani King @Cathay Cineleisure
Signs of me growing old: I just crave for warm brothy food more than ever. And when it comes to soupy food that doesn't compromise with flavors, ramen has to be the choice.
Personally I think one of the best food in Singapore has to be this chain of Ramen stores. The broth is just so rich the taste cannot go wrong.
Plus this joint always has free flow hard boiled eggs and a side dish of beansprouts. And for 15 dollars, u get all toppings and the portion is generous enough to keep u filled for at least 8 hours haha.
Oh and and, their menu is actually pretty simple, so no need to crack ur head to think what u wanna eat. There's only three choices and rest assured they are all good.
So the first is Kani King aka Crab King at Cathay Cineleisure. I was here for supper after a Karaoke session at Ming Arcade. So glad to find this place, perfect location after retail therapy in Orchard plus it opens till late night.
Rich Crab Broth Ramen with all toppings - SGD 18.90
Ramen is just comfort food. Everything I love in one bowl! It has the meaty chashu, the crunchy black fungus and beansprouts, fragrant scallions and the tasty tamago egg. I know I can't finish them but I will always opt for the special toppings haha. Anyways the crab broth was indeed rich and salty. Well the soup is abit too rich for slurping but the noodles picks up the right amount of flavors. And honestly, I love all things with crab flavors.

Next, the first Keisuke Ramen outlet that I went. It's Tonkatsu King at Tanjong Pagar. This place is like a mini gem at one corner of the Orchid Hotel. Like literally one corner, the shop has only like 10 tables I guess which is crammed in a small space. But hey the queue outside on a Sat night is at least two times the dining capacity. Anyways as the name suggests, the Specialty here is pork broth ramen and it's sinfully delicious. The broth is pretty much opaque with pretty much the essence of the pork bones and fats. Greasy, but smooth. You have to try this out if you crave something intense.
Free flow beansprouts and eggs.
Here comes the bowl of goodness. As usual, I got the Tonkatsu Ramen with all toppings - SGD 14.90. Omg that mega stripes of chashu, as if the ramen is not porky enough haha. Chashu just melts and fall apart. The noodles are all coated with the rich broth, slightly springy bit has a bit of crunch. It's yummy!
Like how the table is so small and all the food just filled the entire space haha.
Oh that's a hack I learned from my friend. If you are wondering why they give gard boiled eggs and what's so special about them. Here's one special thing u can do, add the kewpie mayonnaise, which is like the best mayo of all time, and tadah u enjoy one delicious serving of egg mayo! Its delicious really.
