Tale as old as time, tune as old as song. Dreams as jolly as Disney.
When I was a kid, I would be begging my mom to take me to Disney on ice whenever the advertisement of the concert starts popping around.
But of course, concert is certainly not a priority at those times. And after some years, I am grown up enough to accept the fact that Disney on ice is not going to happen in at least 10 years time haha.
This year, I'm an adult in her quarter life crisis, going to work everyday and earning a salary to keep myself alive. When the advertisement starts popping up, I knew this is a dream I need to realise this year.
So excited when I see little kids in their Princess outfits, some of the mothers dressed up as well. And it warms my heart whenever I see a father holding the daughters' hand in her Princess outfit. At that day, it was obvious. Everyone is a princess, everyone is a Prince, because we are loved, and cherished by our King and Queen.
Anyways when Mickey and Minnie came out, was totally hyped haha. It felt like childish Carmen just took over. I'm like those kids next to me, just stuck in a 25 year body haha. Anyways, my thoughts. I think it's 45 dollars well spent. 2 hours of joy and indulging in songs that remind you to be happy, be brave and be kind.
And I guess watching it now has its merits. Coz they pretty much presented the whole Frozen story, on ice! Can u imagine? Elsa gliding through the cold ice in her sparkly dress. Its definitely magical, in a very much realistic sense.
Think this can be an annual thing, and think I'm gonna wear like a princess next time muahhahaha.
Thanks to these two Princesses who were willing to share my dream haha.
When you wish upon a star, makes no difference who you are.
Continued our girls day out with Princess level dinner. Went to Saveur at the Cathay which is pretty well known for its affordable French cuisine. Now I understand how unaffordable French cuisine is haha.
Anyways erm, tried Foie Gras for the first time in my life and I can totally see why rich ppl are all over this specific part of the duck/goose. It has a very rich aroma that felt almost like flavored butter and just melts in your mouth. So good yet feeling sinful because it is all greasy.
Checking in at Cathay Theaters
Princess worthy meal needs a glass of wine. (Carbaret Sauvignon for SGD 10 per glass)
Truffle Foie Gras - SGD 12.90
Fine Dining, this is what it means. Fine but fine.
Crispy Pork Belly - SGD 17.90
I suppose this is the French style Siu Yok. With fragrant gravy and runny eggs to intensify the flavors.
Wild Mushroom Penne - SGD 15.90
Plain pasta with the strongest flavors from mushrooms and cheese. Straight forward yummy.
Sorry I don't even know whether this is right but the Foie Gras was so greasy that I ordered a baguette (SGD 3) to pair with. Yes i eat it like its butter, sue me haha.
Overall, I do think truffle foie gras is delicious but nothing like super impressed but I guess I'll explore more Foie Gras dish in the future. I'm a big fan of mushroom pasta so the Penne will be something that I will come back for. My friend recommends the Duck Confit here. Anyway, I suppose French cuisine fans will frequent this place given its price. But if you're not, it is still a decent restaurant with yummy offerings.
