Free the Robot @Telok Ayer

Happy CNY eve everyone, gonna post some updates while I'm stuck in the car on the way back to dad's hometown.

Okay just last week, met up with the FYP pack while the half - Thai PR is back in Singapore. Suggested this cafe which I always pass by and see quite a crowd inside. If you have some dollars to splurge for something healthy, this cafe is the place to go!

Free The Robot

118 Telok Ayer St, Singapore, 068587.

I wanted to try the Salmon Soba but it was sold out :( picked the closest alternative instead, Salmon Rice Bowl (SGD 16). The raw salmon was good but I'm pretty disappointed with the rice, it's overcooked and all in sticky lumps. But i like the combination of ingredients, salmon, crunchy cucumber, eggs, bonito flakes and avocado that melts in your mouth like butter. It's almost like a Japanese bibimbap.

The FYP mate ordered Wagyu Steak and Fries (SGD 20). Sounds like a good deal, but the beef wasn't like superb Wagyu standards lar. But do like the truffle fries though, very addictive haha. I kept stealing them.

Finally, the Signature Coffee from Free the Robot (SGD 6) which has a deliciously refreshing coconut taste. I suspect they added coconut oil. Though the food was abit disappointing but I'd recommend having a cup of coffee with your friends over here. The cosy and vintage interior within the Telok Ayer ancient shop house is a great place for conversations over coffee.

Always happy to talk to this bunch. Thanks for always sharing about your lives.
