重庆烤鱼 Chongqing Grilled Fish @Chinatown

Can't miss the bright pink neon sign whenever I walk pass Mosque Street to go to Chinatown's main shopping streets.  There has been a trend for such oil drenched and chili buried fish dish. Personally think mala is really gaining popularity here and yes I am a big fan too.

Excited to try this member of the mala food family haha. Gotta say it's really good. The spices are freaking spicy and numbing but it's not the type that irritates your stomach or mess up ur tongue for 1 hour. Best part has to be the fish, very soft and slightly greasy which goes very well with the spices.

We ordered the fish and added some sides such as enoki mushrooms, black fungus, tau kee, shrimp paste and tofu. Ordered a blanched spinach with salted egg and century egg as well.

Total damage was $25 per pax. This includes rice and drinks. Quite reasonable.

Look at dat, spicy but satisfying.
